God is faithful and will not let you be tried beyond your strength; but with the trial he will also provide a way out, so that you may be able to bear it.

— 1 Corinthians 10:13

Do not water down your faith in Jesus Christ. … With these two things you have the action plan: the Beatitudes and Matthew 25. You do not need to read anything else.

There is no other remedy for this evil of giving up prayer than to begin again.

Just as no great travels are necessary to see the beauty of creation, so no great ecstasies are needed to discover the love of God. But you have to be still and wait so that you can realize that God is not in the earthquake, the storm, or the lightning, but in the gentle breeze with which he touches your back.

Hello Father! Any books to recommend to a young adult who was never was proactive in his faith, but recently wants to try again? I have a lot of friends who were just "Catholic" because their parents were, but stopped going to Mass as soon as they went to college. God bless! - Anonymous

Sure! The YouCat, and anything by Peter Kreeft with a topic that interests you. Then Edward Sri on the Mass and Fr John Bartunek on prayer. Plus the saint who might inspire you most and maybe even this.

May God bless you abundantly!

- Father Shane
